The pursuit - “The Call”
Days dawn with great expectation but are often filled with the ordinary, but some days dawn with the exceptional. Today is Father's Day. For those of us who are dads this day marks the day when everything changed and we became fathers. The ordinary was overtaken by the exceptional!
God is the invader of the common ordinary...his invasion is always marked by His call. He calls us to redeem us, restore us, and to use us. All for Jesus!
It has been my experience that the call of God is one of the most misunderstood aspects of a believers life. We have mystified the revelation of God's call to us as something only the super spiritual can discern. God calls pastors or missionaries not common folks. if God does indeed call the ordinary folk it is just to get "saved" and nothing more other than attend the gatherings hosted by the church. Or we use this as a lame excuse to avoid whatever we want to avoid.
There has to be more! But what? How can we hear the call of God in or lives and live in the power of that call? If we are going to live face to face with God and pursue him with holy passion we must hear his call and respond to him.
In 1 Samuel 16 we see David being called...you are being called. Let's lean in and discover how to live face to face with God...in the pursuit!
