The Pursuit - "Time in the Desert"

Deserts are daunting.

We don't think of deserts as being filled with life or filled with lessons. They are! In Hebrew the word desert means "where the flocks roam". How did they come to that conclusion...because they were people of the desert. The very foundations of the Jewish people was in the vast expanse of the desert. Throughout their history they were people of roaming. when they exited Egypt they wondered 40 years in the desert. God gave them that experience to allow them to fully become his people. If we dig deeper into the meaning for the word desert we also find...to speak...the desert has a way of speaking to the deepest places of our soul. Spiritual seekers have know this for centuries as they have ventured into the desert to find a deeper reflection or meaning to life.
